Dude, it wasn't personal. I was kidding about the SNL comment. I guess I miscalculated. You still missed the point. It isn't about authentication. You can't get to where you want to go without a selector.

The "guy" in the sketch is Dan Aykroyd. His delivery is what is funny, not what he said. One of the greatest comedians of our time.

The three tiers categorizes is a proper system that works in most cases, some cases will require examining a variety of additional factors such as stakes technology savvy, type and quantity of data and balance between time and accuracy.

Craig, I have had great respect for you, but I'm afraid to say that in my view, your "rebuttal" is a rebuttal only in the sense that the guy on the SNL sketch you linked to provides a rebuttal: with emotionally charged profanity and ad hominem, but ending there.

Much better cases than this one can be made for why today's "Identity Selectors" might be able to turn into something truly useful. Phil and Paul often do, and I admire their vision. At the end of my post, I did outline something, too. You can do better, too, and if and when you do, I will be happy to respond.
