Not only is the new facebook slow as hell, none of the greasemonkey scripts will work on it anymore, including the one that turns it back into the old facebook

To me Firefox is the best browser
  • craigburton · 7 months ago
Yes. This brings up the other problem of browser-based scripting. Suppose the script you are using gets fixed. This means everyone that wants those fixes would have to download the new script and install it.

Cloud-based scripts get fixed once, everybody automatically gets the fix.

Looks like Action Cards would really take over Grease Monkey's market share soon.

When I see those goofed up people pushing self made planes over the harbour in an annual plane creation competition, I can't help to laugh at it but at times, I do feel that the Wright Brothers probably undergone a series of ridicule of wanting to create an airplane when there were no predecessors. They only had birds as their reference to fall back on.

Why do you call it a "hack". It's a program, an add-on, a web tool. Do you mean to convey something other than that it is weak and flawed? That's not the way to do it.

Action cards is better then greesemonkeys. So it will definately take over & it should be.

For me, whatever it is, the most important part is its being user and pocket-friendly.
But what is this about Greasemonkey - a hack? Hmmm, curiosity leads me the way to ask this.

This issue will still depend on the negotiation of t he two parties.

I don't think Greasemoney or Action Cards are the way to go. I prefer a PHP implementation that does essentially the same thing. .ASP is probably the easiest though. I prefer taking the existing languages that have stood the test of time, and adding on to the functionality of that language.

Action cards & greesemonkeys have entirely different works. Why to compare them.

Cardholder access to the ruleset would reflect poor design. It isn’t done for a reason. Access by anyone to any card’s ruleset is fraught with huge danger. Any hacker could completely destroy the integrity of your card for whatever reason.

I too believe that Action cards are more effective than greasemonkey tools. Action cards have proven to be very useful. These have changed everything. On the other hand greasemonkey have a very restricted scope.
  • yeastinfection · 2 months ago
Yes I agree that greasemonkey to be fun by script for hackers but not completely. You must first try PHP method then take decision.

Greasemonkey is a hack for changing Firefox browsing and chrome. An easy fun hack. But a hack nonetheless.
  • Kefir Grains · 1 month ago
I stand by my position that Action Cards change everything. Greasemonkey is very cool, but is a Firefox specific hack that is a fun toy but no more than a harbinger to the real thing. Selector-based Action Cards are the real thing and do—in fact as claimed—change everything.
